Dear veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and paraprofessionals:
Given the unprecedented circumstances we are facing related to the COVID-19 pandemic and the recommendation from state and federal health officials that no large events be scheduled, the Buffalo Trace Veterinary Medical Association Morehead Clinic Days committee has made the difficult decision to cancel the Morehead Clinic Days meeting which was scheduled for June 6 & 7, 2020. We are taking this action to ensure the safety of all veterinarians and other veterinary professionals who would be attending the meeting. We realize this decision will be very inconvenient to many of you who depend on this meeting for your CEU hours. Please know it is not one that we wanted to make and we spent a number of weeks contemplating this decision, trying to predict when this COVID-19 issue would subside. Ultimately, the spread and virulence of the virus is still too unpredictable. Ensuring the health and well-being of our professional “family” is our highest priority at this time, and, therefore, we could not risk any attendee obtaining this infection, no matter how remote the possibility.
This is the first time in forty years that we have had to cancel this meeting, so please note that it was a painful decision. We certainly plan to continue the conference in 2021 and for many years beyond. The BTVMA committee’s hope is that you stay safe and productive during this extraordinary time, and we hope and pray that your life will return to some normal state soon. We appreciate your understanding during this most difficult time.
Respectfully,
BTVMA Morehead Clinic Days Committee
